It is now five months since Fari had a significant grass element in his diet and the changes to his hooves and performance have been amazing. I now believe with total confidence that next year this little Arab will be back on the endurance scene, confidently striding out on hooves which have been transformed by diet and environment.
Since September he has completed a fun ride of 10 miles each weekend without any need for boots. One weekend he went hunting on Saturday for four hours and then completed a 10 mile fun ride over jumps on Sunday.
He is walking more confidently on his hardcore area at home and the change to his foot, particularly the frog and the back third are remarkable. His lateral cartilage area has always been thin and under developed. Now however with P3 rising in the hoof capsule, as a result of better laminae connection, more room has been created for the structures at the back of the foot to deepen. His frog has developed a deep sulcus, a sulcus which in May was non-existent. His collateral groove depth has more than doubled and he has the beginnings of concavity which I never thought I would see.
