The following pages tell of the progress of some of the many horses who have either come into the care of Performance Barefoot or are successful barefoot horses trimmed by farriers or owners.
Not all the stories are finished yet, not all the hooves completely healed and healthy. Some hooves have changed beyond all recognition. Some horses have recovered from years of lameness problems. Others are hooves of youngsters who will always have the benefit of a healthy hoof, free from metal shoes. Some hooves might never come back to the form they might have had if they had been given the optimum diet and environment from day one. However, all have benefited from a change to natural hoof care. Most still have far from perfect hooves but as far as they and their owners are concerned they work just fine!
