Sophie still has long way to go before her hooves are at their optimum. She still has a lot of medial, lateral imbalance and flare. We are still having to treat a few cracks at the front of her hoof.

We continue to respect her live sole plane and have watched in amazement as her hooves have changed and reacted to a natural trim which has unloaded areas of force and stress. Maybe Sophie’s hooves will never completely recover. Perhaps the damage was too great. However we think that Sophie has shown us that cracks will heal without shoes to support and protect.
