We think the pictures of Lucy’s hooves say it all as a start!
Lucy is the most adorable pony who pulls her trap with her owners Sue and Rachel around the quiet lanes of Shropshire.
When she came to Performance Barefoot we couldn’t quite believe the state of her hooves which had been regularly shod every 6 weeks.
We believe Lucy is an insulin resistant laminitic and so Sue and Rachel keep her on a grass and molasses free diet.
She lives in an area which is half bark and half concrete. She has access to a little shelter and can talk to her mate Lee over the fence.
Lucy usually goes barefoot when she is out working but sometimes metabolic changes affect her and she needs boots on her front hooves while her feet are sensitive.
Her owners find that the more they exercise her the better she is.
