Forage exerts a significant influence on the total diet of equines because of the huge amounts consumed. Consequently a knowledge of the mineral status of grass, hay, or haylage is vital to ensure optimum health. Even though the amounts of some minerals consumed are in milligram quantities their effect on horse health relative to their low concentration is huge.
Forageplus provides analysis service for hay,
haylage, and pasture so the nutrient and mineral
levels are known. We can also test water and
soil should it be appropriate.
• Forageplus assists you with the procedure for sampling your hay, haylage and pasture.
• Forageplus can calculate a bespoke feeding plan unique to your horse in his/her environment which will optimise your horses diet with what he/she actually needs. This ensures a nutrient adequate and mineral balanced diet. If you have hard feed or supplement preferences we can accommodate these too.
• Forageplus provides a recipe and instructions for making your own custom mineral mix containing only what your horse needs in addition to the forage he/she eats.
• Forageplus provides only the individual minerals your horse needs. Unlike other nutrition companies we don’t have a one size fits all broad spectrum approach. We believe a bespoke targeted approach is more appropriate for all horses from those doing eventing and endurance to

With the introduction of a mineral balanced diet niggling problems such as foot sensitivity, rain scald, mud fever, itching skin, muscle soreness, poor performance, dull coats and poor quality hooves are likely to become a thing of the past.
