2009 season
Fari has been out and about all year, fun rides, hacking and 90 miles to Abergavenny when Morris injured himself on Ride Bare. In September he competed in his first Le Trec competition and loved all the obstacles. We plan to hunt him through the winter, enter the novice showjumping with our local Riding Club and do some indoor Trec sessions to become more proficient at the obstacle part of Trec. Fari enjoyed his first Le Trec competition. He rode as a pair with Louise Parker and her stallion Trouble who is also barefoot. As a first stab at Trec both horses did fantastically coming seventh overall. The competition included a 12km orienteering stage. Fari and Trouble will enter a few indoor competitions to improve their PTV skills over the winter and then hopefully be slightly more prepared for the 2010 season.
Pictured below Fari negotiates the low branches section of the PTV stage. He had never done this before and thought it most odd he was being asked to go under these canes, had it been real low branches he would have flown underneath but canes??? What on earth??? After a small amount of persuasion however he obliged most beautifully.
