Morris is a rising four year old arab. He is owned by Performance Barefoot and is to be trained as an endurance and all round prospect. This a diary of his development as a barefoot performance horse.
April 2006
Whilst visiting Nic Barker in Devon we took the opportunity to go window shopping at the Colmer Arabian Stud in Dorset where Eaglescliffe stands. We didn’t actually intend to buy Morris but one look at his beautiful hooves and we were smitten. Three weeks later we loaded him up in the trailer and he began the long journey back to North Wales.
December 2006
Over the last few months we have worked on handling Morris and getting him to accept being touched and brushed. He has also had to learn to have his feet picked up and trimmed. Not easy when you have never had this done before. He now has balanced hind feet and his front feet continue to be rather spectacular.
