Daisy is a thoroughbred cross ID who came to Performance Barefoot with bone spavin and hooves which could not hold a shoe on for longer than a couple of weeks. She had suffered from bouts of lameness for sometime and had a strange action behind. Two years on Daisy’s hooves have been transformed with natural hoof care and a grass free diet. She is back in work, enjoying a few affiliated dressage tests and lots of hacking with her mustang hooves.
An interesting point to note with Daisy was how her hinds responded to being barefoot. Her left hind developed a very high heel within 2 months of having the shoes removed. This seemed to allow her strange action and lameness to correct itself. Now her heel a year later in the second smaller photo has returned to a normal height and the strange action gone. Was her body able to readjust by allowing the hoof to compensate?
These photos span a period of about one year and clearly show her hoof become like the mustang model which has inspired a huge natural hoof care revolution.
How has this hoof been achieved .........?
