Paddy is a thirteen year old 7/8 thoroughbred. He and his owner love to Team Chase and compete up to Novice level BE. Paddy also competes in riding club show jumping and dressage.
November 2008 Paddy went barefoot because he hated being shod and needed to be sedated to keep the farrier safe! Once he was out of shoes he never looked back, the picture below is of him hunting in January 2009, less than three months later.
A careful diet both before and after he came out of shoes meant that Paddy was ready to go very quickly.
Summer 2009 to Summer 2010
Paddy has continued with all his usual activities, eventing, team chasing, show jumping, dressage and fun rides. His owner’s jumping instructor says he has never jumped better.
Autumn 2010
Paddy has come to stay with the Performance Barefoot horses whilst his owner is working away. Sarah is delighted that she now has this lovely horse to play with and she expects to have loads of fun with him.
The first weekend he went to Kelsall, the next two weekends were fun rides with hedge hopping for fun. Then, as the photo opposite shows, he loved tearing round a hunter trial. Keep checking back for more news on Paddy’s Page.

December 2010
Well the snow and ice really stopped play. Courtesy of Wow , First Thought Equine Ltd, we have new panels for Paddy. We have put these panels on an existing saddle and this saddle is now set up for Paddy, we just need the weather to sort itself out so we can test drive it!. His old saddle had been difficult to fit to him even though his owner had been more than diligent in having it fitted by a professional saddle fitted. The more modular approach which the Wow saddle affords may suit him better.
New Year’s Day
At last a chance to try the new saddle arrangement out at speed! It worked great as the photos prove and Paddy and Sarah thought the whole day was fab! Thanks to CFDH and Klickon Photography.
